Eagle Creek Golf and Country Club golf course winds through cypress preserve and pine forests, with residential housing only on six holes! By selecting one of six sets of tees, members may choose a golfing test to fit their ability. A walkable golf course makes Eagle Creek unique among several area golf courses. Members of Eagle Creek enjoy year-round golfing events organized by its Golf Committee and superbly run by its golf professional team. Annually rated among the best in Florida, Eagle Creek Golf & Country Club's Golf Course was designed by noted golf course architect Larry Packard. Subsequent redesigns and modifications by former United States Winner, CBS golf analyst and Eagle Creek PGA Emeritus, Ken Venturi, has enhanced the unique quality and challenge of the course.
In 2004 the Club completed additional course renovations and refinements utilizing the C.R. Sanders Group of Cordova, Tennessee. The Sanders Group previous experience included projects at Augusta National in Augusta, Georgia; Pinehurst #2 in Pinehurst, North Carolina and the Ocean Course at Kiawah Island, South Carolina. The Eagle Creek project included installation of a state-of-the-art irrigation system, regressing of all fairways and tees and the installation of new cart paths. This work complimented the total rebuilding of the course greens in 1999.
During the Summer of 2017, Eagle Creek started work on a renovation that used multiple turf grass species, which is a unique and rarely utilized approach to turf grass management. In addition, work included the installation of major drainage systems and renovation of bunkers which focused on high impact areas with the reshaping of landing areas on the fairways and approaches before the green. Over 50 acres of rough was replaced using Celebration grass in addition to cart path work.
Golf Course Superintendent Jimmy Alston stated “The primary focus of the renovation was on Eagle Creek’s 4 famous finishing holes. These holes are proven to be some of the best in Florida as this is a signature of Larry Packard’s golf course designs.”
This renovation is in addition to gradual work done in 2015 and 2016, resulted in $2 million in course enhancements over a 3-year period. Alston states that “This gradual approach to the renovation process ensures the integrity and maturity of the original Larry Packard design.” These renovations garnered Eagle Creek national attention from Golfdom Magazine, Bunkered Magazine and more due to Hurricane Irma's impact during the renovation.
Eagle Creek is currently is a finalist for Best Golf Course in Naples for 2018, from the readers of Gulfshore Life Magazine.
We also share the same golf course architect as The Copperhead Golf Course at Innisbrook which hosted the Valspar Championship. We are the ONLY Southwest Florida golf course where you'll find the same design elements the professional golfers tackled at the Valspar PGA Championship event. Larry Packard was considered the father of the double dog leg in his design, which is featured here and at Innisbrook. The signature double-dog leg is prevalent on Copperhead's par-5 14th hole and on Eagle Creek’s Hole #11 and #15.
We are a premiere Naples private golf club where members enjoy year-round golfing events organized by its Golf Committee and is superbly run by its golf professional team. Eagle Creek offers its members a Ladies' 9 & 18 Hole league and Men's 18 hole League. The creation of an active walking program for golfers makes Eagle Creek unique among Naples area golf course communities.
"I love our golf course and our fellow Members. Our biggest asset is the people at Eagle Creek Golf & Country Club."- Ben
"We looked at the facilities and really liked what we saw -- the terrific golf course -- the beautiful club house - the overall beauty of the operation including the quiet environment. Our new home is perfect; since then we have met so many wonderful people since, it would take "dynamite" to dislodge us from Eagle Creek." -Ward
